Dexlansoprazole

 Medical use

Dexlansoprazole is used to maintain healing and healing of erosive esophagitis and to treat heartburn associated with gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). [1] It lasts longer and requires less intake than its chemically related lansoprazole. [7] There is no good evidence that it works better than other PPIs. [3]
 Side effects
The most important adverse events (≥2%) reported in clinical trials were diarrhea, abdominal pain, bloating, nausea, upper respiratory tract infection, vomiting and flatulence. [one]

Like lansoprazole, dexlansoprazole permanently binds to the proton pump and blocks it, preventing the formation of stomach acid. [7]
